LogicBoxes and Skenzo host An Egyptian Odyssey at ICANN Cairo Meeting

LogicBoxes and Skenzo organized yet another special event for the ICANN meeting attendees at Cairo this November, following up on their success with the Taj Sojourn during the ICANN Delhi meeting.

The event generated quite a bit of interest among the ICANN attendees, many of whom had attended the Taj trip earlier this year. The elite list included the likes of of Bruce Tonkin (MelbourneIT), James Bladel/Tim Ruiz (GoDaddy), Jeffrey Eckhaus (Demand Media), Stephane Van Gelder (Indom), Jon Nevett (Network Solutions), Trey Harvin (dotMOBI), and Mason Cole (Oversee.net) to name a few.

“We received quite an overwhelming response to our Taj trip, and it has always been our intent to facilitate greater communication and foster exchange between all ICANN meeting delegates, and the internet community at large. And Cairo being such a beautiful and exotic city, we thought it but natural to create this special event for our guests, to provide them the opportunity to socialize and network with their peers even as they visit the last remnant of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World!” said Bhavin Turakhia, CEO and Founder of Directi.

The trip started off with an awe-inspiring tour of the Valley of the Kings, comprising of the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, the world’s largest monolith statue. This was followed by a cruise on the Nile River aboard the regal environment of the Nile Pharaoh cruise ship, replete with food and entertainment. Apart from this, there was a visit to all the celebrated landmarks, such as the Egyptian Museum, the Papyrus Institute, the Khan El Khalili market and the Sound & Light Show – a complete experience of all the sights and sounds that Cairo has to offer.

The event, christened ‘An Egyptian Odyssey’, was a huge success, and was attended by a diverse set of delegates – from Domain Name Registry members to Registrars from across the globe. All those who participated were enthralled by the mystic grandeur of the monuments and the rich cultural history and traditions of Egypt.

Says Divyank Turakhia, President of Skenzo,” We wanted the Egyptian Odyssey to be on an even greater scale than the Taj trip, and we left no stone unturned to ensure that our guests took back some very special memories from this event. All our guests immensely enjoyed the experience, which allowed them to explore the wonders of Cairo in a way that would not have been possible otherwise, due to their busy schedules.”

LogicBoxes launches ICANN Accreditation Consultancy for Domainers

LogicBoxes announced that it is launching the “Domainer Accreditation Program” – an initiative targeted exclusively at large domain name portfolio owners – at the Traffic Conference in New York on the 23rd of September, 2008. The program is designed to educate domainers of the many risk mitigation benefits that an ICANN Accreditation has to offer them, and subsequently helping to obtain and manage their own ICANN Accredited Registrar.

“We’ve recently seen a surge of enquiries for our ICANN Accreditation Consultancy services from large Domainers”, said Bhavin Turakhia, CEO of LogicBoxes. “There are several compelling reasons why Domainers look at obtaining an ICANN Accreditation. Apart from the benefit of eliminating the ‘middle man’ (the Registrar) between them and their portfolios, the Accreditation also provides Domainers with an unbeatable level of flexibility to portfolio management and even opens up newer profit centers for them.”

One of the important objectives of this program is also to dispel several myths that exist about ICANN Accreditation – the most prevalent one being that it’s expensive. Bhavin admitted that most Domainers don’t have the expertise required to obtain or maintain an ICANN Accreditation and handle Registrar-related issues like compliance, UDRPs, WDRPs, etc. Therefore, they need someone to assist with the process and provide them with an end-to-end solution that requires minimal maintenance. Having consulted over 65 ICANN Accredited Registrars, LogicBoxes is well placed to leverage its experience and resources to offer the complete Turn-key solution meant for Domainers.

The Domainer Accreditation Program is tailor-made for Large Portfolio holders, keeping their specific needs in mind. The overall service has been geared to ensure more ‘red carpet treatment’ which includes a dedicated account manager, compliance assistance, technical consulting and even a comprehensive Registrar Software. The Program is designed to ensure that Domainers are not distracted by any regulatory hassles and other accreditation management activities and can instead focus better on the business of domaining.
