The whole of last week feels like a blur because we really can’t seem to figure where did the CloudFest days go! Being our most favourite conference in the entire year, we expected our time in Rust to be nothing short of spectacular; and guess what, it far exceeded our expectations!
As is the case every year, this time too was all about meeting our partners and friends at our booth, conversing with experts from the Cloud and Hosting sphere, forging new friendships at networking parties, and also, booth hopping. It hasn’t even been a month since we got back from NamesCon 2018 and we’re back on the road already!
The ICANN fraternity will be heading to San Juan, Puerto Rico for its 61st General Meeting, which is being hosted by NIC.PR. This 6-day meeting will be held at Centro de Convenciones de Puerto Rico between March 10 – 15, 2018. As is the case with all ICANN conferences, this one too, will be all about capacity building, increasing outreach, getting a deeper understanding of ICANN’s plans and policies, and most importantly, networking. The industry is brimming with several pressing issues at the moment and what’s keeping most of the businesses on their toes is the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance requirement. With the GDPR go-LIVE date drawing closer, it will be interesting to see how businesses from our industry are preparing to tackle this challenge and ICANN’s expectations from its Registrars.
