ICANN Meeting: Delhi, India; Feb 10th to Feb 15th 2008

It is time for the next quarterly ICANN meet and this time around it holds very special importance to us at LogicBoxes. The 2008 first quarter ICANN meet is scheduled to be held between 10th and 15th February in New Delhi, India. Being hosted in our own country for the very first time, it gives us immense pleasure to have the opportunity to especially invite you and your team to attend this meeting.

As always, this conference presents all members of the Internet Community with the opportunity to meet those within the ever expanding industry and exchange valuable insights on the current scenario and the expected road ahead. In addition to interacting and networking with key players, ICANN meetings allow all involved to voice their opinions on critical decisions and actively participate in the policy making process. Strategic decisions taken at such meetings will shape the future of Registrar businesses in the years to come.

Located within the host country, LogicBoxes has planned a surprise for all our clients and guests. It would be great if you and your team could join us for the same. At this point in time, I do not have the liberty of giving you more details on this exclusive event; however I can guarantee that it will be special and completely worth your while. Additionally, LogicBoxes and Skenzo will jointly sponsor the conference and we will have our booth at the venue throughout the meeting. Our entire contingent is expected to attend this meeting and we’d like to invite you all to drop in by the booth as per your convenience and give us the opportunity to discuss things over personally.

To make things a little easier, we have put together a whole list of hotels and resources that you could use to make your arrangements comfortably. We’d honestly like to see you all at the meeting and hope nothing deters you from making the trip to India. While ICANN has already listed out various options, we’ve taken up the initiative of finding accommodation and travel alternatives that might suit your needs. Please click here to access this information.

Also, if you intend to tour the country with family etc., do let us know and we could help you narrow down on places of interest and travel options. LogicBoxes’ Offices are located in Mumbai and if you do intend to visit our city, we’ll be glad to arrange for you to see our offices and meet our team in person.

We look forward to having you attend the meeting and sincerely hope that you will be part of the LogicBoxes event as well. Do let us know if you’ll need any additional information from us and we’d be more than happy to help.

Milestone Agreement Reached Between ICANN, and F Root Server Operator, Internet Systems Consortium

First-of-its-kind agreement recognizes mutual responsibilities, supports enhanced Internet stability

Marina del Rey, CA: ICANN and Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) are today announcing the signing of a Mutual Responsibilities Agreement for the operation of the F-root nameserver.

Effective root server operations are an essential component in providing a stable and secure, globally interoperable Internet. ISC is one of twelve global root server operators that provide a key element of the underlying domain name system infrastructure of the Internet. Essentially, root servers provide an authoritative directory ensuring Internet services that are accessed with names, for example the URL www.icann.org or email to [email protected], are translated from human readable names into network addresses that a computer can find. The root server system overall answers well over 100,000 queries per second, providing the first step in determining the requested network address.

Hosting Orders added as a factor for Slab based Pricing

In order to provide you more flexibility in setting Domain Registration Pricing, we have now introduced Hosting Orders as a factor in addition to the Total Receipts criterion which already exists. We believe that this will stimulate the sale of this Product through your Resellers due to higher profit margins. The revamped slab structure essentially enables you to allow your Resellers to advance towards a higher slab pricing with lower Total Receipts.

Going forward, our Domain Registration Pricing Slabs will also depend on the number of Hosting Packages sold. Your Resellers can now jump to a higher slab for Domain Registration if they either have the required amount of Total Receipts OR the required number of Hosting Packages.
