It’s been over a month since we launched Weebly and we’re back with an extensive, feature-driven post on how Weebly can make life easier for you and your customers.
Weebly currently powers over 40 million websites, equivalent to more than 2% (and growing) of all the websites on the internet today!
Weebly also gives your customers access to their HTML / CSS editor so, if they want, they have the option to extensively modify their website’s design.
Drag content onto the screen in front of you, and where your content is positioned while you are on the editing mode, is where your content will show up after you publish your website. There is no flipping back and forth between the editing and preview modes (such as with WordPress) to see how your website will actually look after publishing.
Weebly also gives your customers access to their HTML / CSS editor so, if they want, they have the option to extensively modify their website’s design.
When you add a new page to your Weebly website, the page is ready for you to drag and drop content onto it. But what if you can’t figure the perfect layout that fits in well with your website’s theme?
This is where their page layouts come in really handy. Users can pick from a selection of popular professional layouts that specifically cater to Homepage designs, About us pages, Services offered pages, Contact pages, restaurant menu layouts and portfolio pages. Once your customers pick a layout suitable for their new page, they’ll see some pre-set content on the page. They can then just click on it content and replace it with their own pictures, text, etc. They can also move the content around to further modify the layout.
Your customers can create detailed contact pages, including a contact form and integrate Google Maps, all with just a single click. Moreover, customizing it to meet their own needs is very simple.
Weebly has also made it rather easy to switch between template designs. Your customers can select a new template they want to use, and all of their website content will automatically be transferred into the new template. More importantly, no information will be lost, which is very convenient.
Another really cool feature about Weebly is the ease with which your customers can export their website to another host, if at any time the need arises. The only drawback here is that once they’ve moved out, you or your customers will have to manage the website by yourselves, including the website code (or you can hire someone to do that).
However, at the end of the day, having the export function is a much better option than losing your entire website, or having to spend several hours or days to rebuild everything.
Our final take on Weebly
Weebly provides a fantastic website builder that makes it really easy to build a professional online presence, while their E-commerce integration makes it all the more easier to sell products online.
There are plenty of stylish, modern and responsive designs for your customers to choose from. It’s possible to add video backgrounds and animate background pictures, templates can be edited via the source code, new articles can be added by uploading a CSV file, and users can even transfer articles directly from Shopify or Etsy. Artists and writers in particular, will appreciate the option to sell digital goods such as MP3s, videos, or ebooks.
Although the free plan is worth signing up for for beginners, the Business plan which starts at just $9.99/month is totally worth the perks. You can check out a short demo here.
